As Grants Manager, Trista helps donors match their vision of skills policy with National Skills Coalition’s work. She works to diversify the funders who invest in NSC, in order to create long-term sustainable growth for NSC and its allies – and ultimately to drive “people-first” economic growth.
Trista has worked in communications, fundraising, and leadership development to improve nonprofit resiliency and drive meaningful social change. She most recently served on the executive team of environmental organization Stand.earth as the Director of Leadership Development. At Stand, she facilitated the organization’s professional development program, including equity and mindfulness programming, as well as acting as an internal management coach. Prior to that, Trista worked for several international film festivals in San Francisco to tell a wider diversity of stories on screen and worked with a portfolio of national clients on the digital team at M+R Strategic Services. Her first full-time professional job was a fellowship with Pre-K Now, a project of the Pew Charitable Trusts.
Trista holds a bachelor’s degree in German Studies and Ethics from Smith College. She credits the internship stipends, scholarships, and federal financial aid she received at Smith as critical early investments in her personal skills development. She is based in Washington, DC.
