Skills Summit 2020

Register here!

This year's big advocacy event takes place at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. from February 3, 2020 at 1:00 PM to February 5th, 2020 at 4:00 PM.

Here's what you can expect at the 2020 Skills Summit:

  • Networking with workforce leaders: The Skills Summit draws some of the best leadership in post-secondary education, community-based programming, labor, workforce intermediaries, and state administrators from across the country.

  • State delegation-building and advocacy: With technical assistance from NSC, you will work with colleagues from your state to curate your regional skills priorities, hone your messaging, and meet with your Congressional offices as a diverse but cohesive delegation to provide a full picture of the training and education landscape in your state.

  • Up-to-the-minute federal policy updates: You will be brought up to speed with policy movement on the Hill, what to expect, and how to use that information to pack a punch in your meetings with Congressional offices.

  • Develop a relationship with your representatives: A single meeting with your legislator’s office can put your organization in front of the folks that get things done, and begin a conversation with them that you can continue back home.

  • Move the needle on federal skills policy: Last year, 500 participants attended over 160 meetings with Congressmembers. These meetings are the big push needed to get bills introduced and sponsored.
